GIU - Growing In Unity Gal Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, everyone!   Your regularly-scheduled GIU gal had an emergency, so I'll be filling in for her this week.

Today, I'm sharing two different focal images for the card I made.  I really liked the first one I stamped, but at the last minute I decided to add antennae to the butterfly and I didn't like how those turned out.   So I grabbed another piece of white cardstock and tried again with pinks.   What do you think?

This layout was a sketch challenge for The Stampers' Sampler magazine, inks are Memento dye from Tsukineko, and the black & white patterned papers are from Darice.  Stamps, of course, from Unity.

Had the part I not liked been so close to the butterfly, I probably would have covered it up somehow.   As I often say, "Every mistake is a chance for embellishment."   Looking back now, I guess I could have just put gems on the end of the thick antennae of the orange butterfly and called it good.

How do you deal with elements of your projects that don't turn out as planned?

Please check back every day this week for more Unity projects.   I'll be doing a drawing for a free Itty Bitty stamp from Unity from all of the comments left this week.  Happy Stamping!

Very pretty card... but I do love the colors of the orange butterfly! I say I would have added the gems & called it a day but alas, I am a perfectionist & I probably would start over too! I have more incomplete projects than I will admit because it wasn't turning out the way I wanted it to in my head...& I don't throw things away either... LOL

I like both of them. Sometimes, I cover it or just try correcting. Bling is always good too.

The butterfly looks great in both colors! I may have fixed it another way. You could stamp it again in orange and fussy cut it leaving enough of the second paper to have room to re- draw the antennas. Then adhere it down the in middle, gluing down the antennas and body. You can fold the wings up to add a little dimension. One way to cover it up!

Wonderful card! love the black and white background! Both butterflies would look great! We are always harder on our own work then others are! Fabulous job!

I love both of your cards, but we are our own worst critics!

I do lots of covering over, cutting out, or laying aside for the time being when things don't turn out as I had intended. Sometimes I trudge on and post it anyway!!!! :)
