About Me

Hi, I'm Kim! I grew up in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I lived in the Boulder, CO, area for about a year before moving the Boise area. My husband, Chris, and I are owned by a sweet chonky kitty named Pikachu.

I love rubber stamping! I've been stamping for over 20 years. I was doing some direct sales, and a friend showed me a rubber stamp catalog that had stamps like "Bring a Friend, Get a Gift" -- but I saw all the cute cards and decided I needed to be a stamper! It was perfect because I needed a quiet hobby to keep me occupied. Chris fell ill shortly after we got married (at Disney World!), and I am his caregiver.

My favorite thing about stamping is that I can feel like an artist without having the ability to draw. The best thing about paper crafting in general is the huge group of supportive and creative friends I've made. My life wouldn't be nearly as full and rich without them. There are also plenty of ways for stampers to make a difference, donating cards to worthy causes or sending a card to cheer up someone who needs it. When I'm at a crop or a stamping party I get more talking done than stamping, and I always have a wonderful time.

I go by "StampingSpud" on Splitcoaststampers. Here's a link to my gallery. About 150 projects of mine have appeared in print magazines. They've also been featured in museums, in stores, online, and on television.  See my crafting resume for details.

In addition to rubber stamping, I enjoy beading, bargain-hunting, traveling and trying new restaurants. I write reviews on Yelp and hang out with my Dad. I'm lucky to have my dream job! I work for the local Girl Scout Council and like to call myself "The Cookie Monster" because I run the Cookie Program!
