FWF: You Are So Kind

It's Friday once again, which means the weekend is right around the corner!

This particular card that I'm sharing today features my most favorite bird rubber stamp.  I'm enchanted by it. I love it so much, I bought a back-up.  (It's the only stamp I've ever purchased a back-up for on purpose. I do admit to buying other duplicates by mistake!! I hope I'm not the only one who does that.)

This card was an easy CAS (clean-and-simple) card. The patterned paper is from Memory Box.  The stamp and sentiment are from Unity Stamp Company. The edge of the paper was inked in Chestnut Roan chalk ink from Clearsnap, and the stamps were stamped in Seedless Preserves, a purple dye ink from the Tim Holtz distress collection from Ranger.

I thought of adding all sorts of embellishments...  a gem for the eye, a ribbon across the top, etc. In the end, though, I don't think they were really necessary. Do you prefer lots of layers and embellishments?   Or do you tend to keep it simple?

Happy Stamping!

Just perfect for a CAS card. I find them difficult to make but this is a wonderful balance <3

Your card is great just as it is Kim. Good job!
I like to add embellishments a fair bit but sometimes you just know when to stop. Yours is perfect.
I personally have not bought duplicates but my sister on the other hand has. LOL Not just once or twice either! She not only bought the same stamp sets (YES, sets!) but inks as well. For this reason, I made a small (pretty) notebook to keep in my purse, tabbed with sections for inks, Copics, water-colour pencils, etc. (Basically anything you buy in open stock!) When I buy a new colour I add it to the appropriate section so when I am shopping I can refer to it to see what I DON'T have yet! Works for me!

Lovely CAS card with a vintage feel, Kim. I tend to go clean as most of my cards go in the mail. Helps cut down on the very high cost of postage!!

Oooh, I love this bird, too! So gorgeous! Love your card just the way it is. I like to add some embellishments - I like dimension, but not too much. I've never bought a duplicate stamp. I did ask for an embossing folder set once for my birthday, received it, and then realized I already had it. lol So you're not alone. I call that kind of thing my blonde moment (NO OFFENSE to anyone!!!).

This is just wonderful. I have so much stuff in my stash....(at least I hope I still do and that the fires haven't burned it up since we evacuated!!).....that I almost feel obligated to add stuff to my cards. But I love that you kept yours simple. That bird image is just fabulous and really needs nothing with it. Lovely work!!
