Today's project features one of the most beautiful and elegant Unity stamp sets, Let Your Dreams Bloom. I'm mostly a CAS (Clean and Simple) stamper. For me, the simplicity lets the focal image shine.
Buttons are a fairly common embellishment, but I added two little touches to make the card more visually interesting. First, rather than mounting the focal image on a panel that was the same size on all sides, I placed it on a two-sided patterned paper rectangle with extra length on the left-hand side. This allowed for the folded over section with the diagonal stripes. Second, rather than just threading the two buttons, I unraveled the twine that tied them to create a bow-like effect.
What do you think of two-sided patterned papers? It's often difficult for me to choose one side or the other -- I like them both!
Thanks so much for visiting today. See you tomorrow. Happy Stamping!

Great card! And I love the patterned papers together like that; when undecided, use both! Congrats on the Unity gig!
I love this card! The stamp you've used is very pretty and frayed twine adds such an extra feminine touch!

Kim, the color you chose to highlight the stamp is fresh and sophisticated which normally one does not eqate with buttons and mixed print papers, you pulled it off brilliantly. Beautiful cad.
Oops, I meant "card"
LOVE the card - great colors and design. I usually buy 2 of double sided paper so I don't need to make a 'choice'...
That's so pretty. Love the colour. Hugz
The image pops beautifully!
I love the stamp you used! Great card.
Beautiful card and wonderful design!! That image is spectacular...love it in blue.
Two-sided paper: I am the same way! Can't decide which to use and I don't want to "waste" the reverse. What to do...what to do...I don't often make something where both sides show, so my double-sided paper sits unused in my stash. lol...

What a beautiful card! So soft and serene. Congratulations on being a GIU gal this week! I apologise for being so late stopping by. It took me a while to track down your blog. I couldn't find any links in the GIU group, but wanted to come by. :)
I forgot to mention that I like what you did with the twine in the buttons!
